The documentary I helped script is now airing on PBS stations across the country and just this week hit DVD. Here’s the skinny from the press release:
“The completed version of the final DVD has arrived and is ready for shipment. The Kissimmee Basin: the Northern Everglades story has not been told very often in comparison to the rest of the Everglades region. This documentary is a great media tool to provide an overview of the Kissimmee Valley and meet some of the people who live, work and love this historical part of Florida. Please take a look at this fascinating story, purchase the DVD, share this information with others, and educate people about our special place here in the heartland of Florida.”

I was honored to be interviewed for a book by Lee McQueen called Writer In The Library! (though I have to say, the exclamation point makes the phrase sounds like a really weird 911 call). From the press release:
“Writer in the Library! collects interviews and submissions of fiction and non-fiction writers and includes photos, biographies, library quotations , footnotes, glossary, and index. The contributors “cross gender, race, age, political , philosophical, cultural, subject, and genre lines.” But, they all had something to say about libraries and their writing careers. Writer in the Library!’s audience consists of “established writers, up and coming writers, librarians, teachers, writing and book industry professionals, and fans of particular authors. ”
I had the pleasure of scripting (9) half-hour episodes of a truly innovative video series for kids called “Adventure To Fitness”, produced by the incredible folks at IDEAS Orlando. So I found out that the series snagged three Crystal Reel Awards. How cool is that? A nice way to end a very fun project. More info here.
Did you know there was something called the Echo Awards? Yeah, me neither, but I still won one for a commercial I scripted for ReBath. The award “honors the world’s best response marketing campaigns — campaigns that have raised the bar in terms of strategy, creativity and results. No other awards competition looks at the direct response marketing discipline in such totality. Which is why no other awards competition is so important.” Wow, all of that just for scripting a spot featuring a bunch of misbehaving orangutans? Guys, I’m blushing…
